As of 5 p.m. Friday, flooding has not been a problem — yet — but the rain is falling much harder.
With the possibility of a storm surge reaching Lake Charles and the additional possibility of 25 inches of rain over the next three days, navigation in Calcasieu Parish ''could present a challenge,'' according to Norman Bourdeau of the Office of Emergency Preparedness.
Boudreaux said areas near waterways were most likely to see flooding.
He added that the combination of rain and surge could present situations where water will be seen in places ''outside of normal'' in Lake Charles.
