Calcasieu Power

As of 5:45 p.m., there were reports of power outages around Calcasieu Parish.

'' I've got pages every five minutes,'' said Shady Patton, a spokesman for Entergy.
Patton said with sustained winds throughout the area, more reports have been reported to him.

He said he's had reports of up to 3,000 people affected and as few as 200. None of which he could confirm.

He said crews stationed in Lafayette, Baton Rouge and in Texas are on standby, but would not move into the area until ''after the bulk of the hurricane in the morning or later.''

''We don't want to put anyone in harm's way.''
