Area casinos close doors

Lake Charles’ casino fleet shut its doors today as Hurricane Rita headed toward Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.
L’Auberge du Lac Casino and Hotel shut down its $365 million resort and told employees to evacuate. It said it will re-open "as soon as the threat of the hurricane passes."
Harrah’s Lake Charles and Isle of Capri Lake Charles also closed their riverboat casinos.
Delta Downs Racetrack and Casino near Vinton shut down operations and canceled all hotel reservations through Sunday.
