Don't drink the water

Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach said Friday that residents should not drink the water unless they boil it first.
"The water department is concerned about their ability to maintain the water pressure due to the power outages they are experiencing. We do have backup generators but we don't know if the separate generators are going to be able to maintain the pressure that we need," Roach said.
Roach said the water department is now asking all residents to boil water before they use it for drinking.
"We want to make sure that everyone is safe and there is no problem with the water supply. As soon as the storm passes, I think we will be in a position to lift that order but I want to do this just out of an abundance of caution for the rest of the evening and through tommorrow (Saturday)," he said.

Hector, Do you know what emergency personnel remain in the city? My nephew is a first-year nurse and volunteered to remain with patients who could not be moved at St. Patricks. Are Coast Guard and National Guards planning airlifts like they did in New Orleans? What is the plan for those few who remain? Sorry for the repeat post.(formerly Frances Johnson, 1980s American Press copy editor)
